How to – Increase hard disk in a VM with vSphere Web Client

Hi,

Just a quick post, to see how to increase hard disk from the vSphere Web Client interface.

Warning: if you increase EagerZeroed hard drive via the web interface these hard drive will be transformed into LazyZeroed! If you want to stay with a EagerZeroed hard drive you do increase it via command line.

How to increase hard disk ?

  • The first step is to:
    1. select the VM you wish to increase,
    2. go to the “Manage” tab,
    3. then “VM Hardware”,
    4. finally “Edit”

  • Here you have to find the disk you want to increase

  • Then we write the new size required for this hard disk and we validate by clicking OK!
