Small issue today wanting to connect to my backup server Veeam, from the console that is on this same server.
I was getting the following message:
Failed to connect to Veeam Backup & Replication server: No connection could be made because the target machine actively refused it 127.0.0.1:9392
Looking for a bit I realized that the service “Veeam Backup service” was not started and especially that it did not want to start!
There can be several reasons for this, in my case it was because I renamed the server, after installing Veeam. 2 parameters entered hard in the registry had not taken the new name, therefore, the “Veeam Backup Service” service did not want to start.
To remediate this, the following 2 registry keys must be modified:
1 2 |
HKLMSOFTWAREVeeamVeeam Backup and ReplicationSqlServerName HKLMSOFTWAREVeeamVeeam Backup CatalogCatalogSharedFolderPath |
Restart the service, and everything should go in order! 🙂
